Although you’re able to search and book hotels via the Hipmunk site, reservations are always booked directly with hotel booking providers and online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia and Priceline. Providers and OTAs have the relationship with the hotel and help hotels fill rooms by sharing listings on meta search sites like Hipmunk. When you find a hotel you want to book via Hipmunk, the payment is still made with the provider and they book the room with the hotel for you.
Since this provider takes payment and books the room for you, they manage all aspects of the reservation including canceling or changing a hotel reservation. If you have any questions or complaints about your stay, these inquiries are directed there as well.
You can find the name of the hotel booking provider you booked with directly on your hotel confirmation page. If you have a Hipmunk account and booked directly on our site, you can find your confirmation saved in the “My Bookings” section of your account.
